The first indication-based treatment for children

The triple resort of Heringsdorf / Ahlbeck / Bansin on the island of Usedom is leveraging the regenerative power of the forest to promote health with its "1st health and healing forest in Europe". The regional and international interest in this project is enormous. After two years’ successful experience with the healing forest, something has become very clear: Healing forests are special spaces for everyone whether sick or healthy. And there is increased demand for qualification in the subject of child health.

The health situation of children has changed over the past decades. Even at a very young age, children have different health problems than they did 40 years ago, because the classic childhood illnesses such as mumps or chickenpox are largely controllable thanks to medical advances and as a result of vaccinations. On the other hand, an increase in chronic diseases can be observed.

The Heringsdorf Healing Forest follows a ridge above the town, parallel to the coast. The Children's Healing Forest with its 13 stations is located in the area of the Stone Table, a little further inland.
