Often, when we find ourselves in the forest, we cannot immediately make the "switch" to listen, see, and smell attentively. It takes time for us become receptive to what surrounds us. The poetry trail distracts us – in a positive sense – from hectic, negative thought patterns. Reading promotes reflection, and so the poetry path leads to the love bank, the listening funnel and the site of the former Bismarckwarte with this unique view through the forest out over the Baltic Sea ...

The Love Bench is reached at the end of poetry trail – it cannot be overlooked at the top of a knoll. Sculptor Jörg Steinert from Angermünde created it from metamorphic rock (gneiss) from the terminal moraine area of the Uckermark.

Ten tablets line the poetry path, mounted on stone – please take the time to read them all! One or the other stone with its saying or poem will certainly give you cause to think or even inspire you. It is worthwhile to return again and to read your personal favourite lines again. Always remember: There is nothing forcing you to work your way through the forest like a work schedule. The more time you have, the less you look at your watch, the more valuable this day will be.

The site of the Bismarckwarte, which stood on the Präsidentenberg until 1946 is now occupied by the “Compass Rose” by the sculptor Jörg Steinert. Just like the "Love Bench", this sculpture is made of a gneiss and granite moraine boulder.
